|Name|: Gwendolyn Renee Maguire |Age|: 18 |Birthday|: July 26, 1991 |Profession|: Current Freshman at University of Washington, volunteer storyteller at the library. |Location|: Born in Eugene, OR. Currently in Seattle, WA
|Fairy-Tale Character|: Wendy Peter Pan |Ability|: She has a knack for remembering details, and she pours them all into stories that she makes up on the spot. When she tells a story, people can’t help but be enthralled to listen.
|Personality|: Gwen's not bossy, per se, but she is very opinionated and it often comes across as though she thinks she knows what's best for everyone. Her parents have always treated her like she was just a little girl, but she's anxious to prove that she's an adult. This gets her into trouble now and again, often a trouble that she's actively sought out herself. Gwen is wrestling with the ideas of maturity, feeling like she’s ready for more responsibility than her parents readily give her, but not ready to be completely on her own. She’s not the least bit shy, and very self-confident. It’s never been hard for her to make friends.
|Sexuality|: Heterosexual |History|: On July 26th, 1991, Marlene Maguire died from complications with the birth of her only daughter, Gwendolyn, when she was barely twenty years old.
She’d met her husband, Franklin, at age sixteen back when she was Marlene Adams and still in high school. Frank was twenty-one, a junior at the University of Oregon who was president of the Student Government Association and preparing to apply for law school. Unbeknownst to the two of them, their families ran in familiar circles in Eugene, Oregon. Frank was a career-driven man with political aspirations and Marlene loved the attention that she got from a much older man. The pregnancy was unplanned, and upon discovering his girlfriend was pregnant, Frank proposed. Truthfully, he was nowhere near ready to start a family. He didn’t carry a great deal of faith in his own ability to be a father, but he did have faith in his fiancée, who always had enough optimism for the two of them.
They had a courthouse marriage, nothing fancy, no frills. The months they spent together as man and wife were some of the happiest times in their lives. They knew they were having a girl from early ultrasounds, and they named her Gwendolyn Renee Maguire. Marlene’s mother thought it was terribly old-fashioned, but Marlene and Frank loved it. It sounded royal, like the name a princess would have. They were so happy, rooted firmly in the honeymoon phase of their relationship that when the excitement of their daughter’s birth was marred by Marlene’s death, everything felt polarized and numb.
Frank loved his daughter, never once blaming her for his wife’s death. Instead, he held onto the only piece of Marlene he had left, long after her scent was gone from the clothes that still hung in their closet. He spoiled his daughter in all the ways he knew how, hoping that somehow it would make up for the fact that he worked all the time and couldn’t spend as much time with her as he would have liked. Gwen was raised mostly by her nanny, Miss Olivia, but in a lot of ways, she raised herself.
They moved from Eugene, Oregon to Seattle, Washington halfway through Gwen’s eighth grade year at Roosevelt Middle School. She was uprooted from all of the friends she’d known since kindergarten, and she hated her dad in typical thirteen-year-old fashion for making her move.
It wasn’t hard for her to make friends at her new school in Seattle, but the resentment she felt toward her father lingered. He was overly protective, and the tighter he tried to hold onto his baby girl, the harder Gwen pulled away. She’ll always be Daddy’s Little Girl, but that doesn’t mean that she always does what he says. Lately, she’s gotten into the habit of sneaking out of her house late at night to meet up with her friends, and to hang out around the University of Washington campus, where she’ll be starting school in the fall.
|Appearance|: First impression: Sweet and innocent. Gwen doesn't want to look like she's up to no good most of the time -- it surprises people when she gets up to mischief that way. Even though she's in a sorta-rebellious stage in her life right now, she still plays those cards close to her chest, that way nobody is any the wiser. Blonde and kind of preppy, Gwen tends to look put-together even whenn dressing casually. She wears just enough make up to keep her face looking clean, unless she's going out for the night, in which case she'll do something a bit more dramatic. Even though she's trying to prove to everyone that she's ready to grow up, that doesn't mean she'll be dressing like a tart anytime soon. She likes to leave something to the imagination, after all.

Gwendolyn Maguire is a fictional character made up for tell_a_tale RPG community. I am not Gwen, nor am I Hayden Panettiere(her likeness is used just as a face for the character). Gwen is my character. Do not steal her or I will have your head on a pike.
